COMOTIRIO is the co-working scheme of visual artists Eriphyli Veneri and Naira StergiouAn Athens-based collaboration since 2018, it explores the thematics of staged experiencing, myth-making, Beauty and beautification processes. Its practice includes common artworks and lectures, with a main focus on the organization of independent contemporary art exhibitions in places and spaces of historicity, semiology, perplexity or just weirdness.

BIOS

Eriphyli Veneri studied Painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts. She undertook postgraduate studies at the MFA Public Art and New Artistic Strategies program of the Bauhaus University Weimar in Germany with the support of the Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation. She also completed second postgraduate studies at the MA Art in Context program at the University of Arts Berlin with the support of the Basil & Elise Goulandris Foundation. She is a PhD holder of the Department of Architecture, University of Thessaly. Her research thesis is entitled "Greek Restaurants in Berlin: Multisensoriality and Mythmaking in Ethnic Cuisine". Her doctoral studies were supported by the Greek State Scholarship Foundation. In 2019-2020 she received an ARTWORKS artist fellowship award of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Artist Fellowship Program. From 2020-2023 she was adjunct professor at the Athens School of Fine Arts, Department of Visual Arts.

Naira Stergiou studied Painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts. She undertook her first postgraduate studies at the Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten in Antwerp, Belgium (MFA) and completed second postgraduate studies at Campus Sint Lucas Antwerp (Master of Research in Art & Design). She also attended courses of Theology at the Orthodox Onderwijs, Theologisch, Instituut Saint-Serge in Gent, and then proceeded with third postgraduate studies in Modern Greek Literature at the University of Crete. She is a PhD holder of the Department of Visual Arts, Athens School of Fine Arts. Her research thesis is entitled "Multiple Visual Interpretations of Religiosity and the Sacred: Cases of Krypto-Religious Art in the Greek Visual Art Sphere". Her doctoral studies were supported by the Greek State Scholarship Foundation. She has been an academic scholar at the Athens School of Fine Arts, Department of Visual Arts (2020-2021), and from 2021-2024 she was adjunct professor at University of Peloponnese,  Department of Performing and Digital Arts.
